Prom is like no other this year. You may be lucky enough to have an elaborate outdoor soiree, or perhaps you’ll be required to wear a face mask all evening. You may be confined to a virtual event, or it’s possible that your school isn’t holding a shindig at all, so you’re creating your own party at home. Whatever the situation, you want to radiate and glow. Therefore, your prom makeup should complement the setting.

Since your prom is outdoors, you don’t want your smokey eye to be too dark and mysterious, therefore avoid dark blacks and grays. Wear a light pink or peach blush and neutral lip if a mask isn’t required.
Prom Makeup for a Masked Event
Many proms this year will require a mask, therefore you don’t want to overdo it with heavy makeup. Rather, opt for pastel eyes. Select a color that contrasts your dress or mask. You don’t want to be too matchy-matchy, but make sure your overall look is cohesive. Blush isn’t necessary, however you may want to consider taking an extra moment to add a bit of highlighter to contour your face. Keep your lips moist with a rich chapstick.
Prom Makeup for a Virtual Event

Choose a beautiful bold lip to compliment the radiant glow of your golden eyes. Then, wear a light pink or peach blush to pull the look together.
Prom Makeup for an At-Home Prom
If you’re gathering your closest friends together for a celebratory evening at your house, then dazzle them with soft pinks and purples. Find the best tone to flatter your skin color and highlight your features. Blend a dark hue along the lash line and crease, then fill in the lids with a medium tone. Finally, add a light, shimmery, champagne shade from the crease to the brow to truly make your eyes shine. Take the time to contour your face and add a soft, rosy blush. Complete your look with a luscious lipstick.
